A PICTURE OF MARKHAM
Markham Museum, 2023
Semi-permanent exhibition in the museum's orientation gallery. This exhibit tells the story of contemporary Markham through the work of local editorial cartoonist, Pat Wheeler.
I was the sole designer on a small development team with the objective of highlighting and celebrating the illustration work of this local treasure.
The graphic design is editorial in look and feel, as a nod to the cartoon's original medium - newspaper. The colour palette and title font choices were inspired by the modern design aesthetics of the 1970s, the time period from which most of Pat's work comes.
My role included panel and label layout, wayfinding, gallery floorplan, all exhibit text writing, interactive flipbook layout and monitor splash page design.

MARKHAM MOVES
Markham Museum, 2019-2023
7000 square foot exhibition about transportation technology and the science of movement.
I was the sole designer on a small development team with the objective of creating an accessible and engaging experience for museum visitors.
A key design goal was to animate the open gallery space using scale, colour, and illustration. The palette was an expansion of primary colours, applied to a racing flag, and a series of repeating transportation icons throughout the space.
My role included all exhibit text writing, panel and label layout, illustration, wayfinding, information design, gallery floorplan, and interactive module design.
