MARK SCHEIBMAYR

EVERYDAY SUPERHEROES

Markham Museum, 2025-2027

4000 square foot exhibition that highlights numerous individuals in Markham that together create a strong and thriving community through their innovation, compassion, and dedication to serving others.

I was the sole designer on this project with the objective of bringing the large gallery space to life with splashy, attention-grabbing graphics that invite an audience of mostly children in to interact with the activities, stories and artifacts on display.

The graphic design is inspired by classic comic book art and heavily features illustration. It includes the creation of several community superhero avatars, as well as 80+ hand-drawn comic-style portraits of individuals who contributed their stories to the exhibit.

MARKHAM MOVES

Markham Museum, 2019-2023

7000 square foot exhibition about transportation technology and the science of movement.

I was the sole designer on a small development team with the objective of creating an accessible and engaging experience for museum visitors.

A key design goal was to animate the open gallery space using scale, colour, and illustration. The palette was an expansion of primary colours, applied to a racing flag, and a series of repeating transportation icons throughout the space.

My role included all exhibit text writing, panel and label layout, illustration, wayfinding, information design, gallery floorplan, and interactive module design.
